What are water-soluble materials?
The key feature of water-soluble materials is that they can dissolve in water.
These are not made out of actual plastic. Instead, they contain a bio-based material that is friendly to the environment.
Its main ingredient is polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH), a synthetic polymer without toxic metals.
Water-soluble materials are biodegradable, and useful in a wide range of industries.
This alternative to plastic packaging helps produce water-soluble bags, water-soluble laundry bags, chemical packaging bags, water-soluble garbage bags, water-soluble dog waste bags, etc.
- water soluble laundry bag$10.00
- Cold Water Soluble Bag For Chemical And Pesticide Packaging$10.00
- water soluble garbage bag$10.00
- water soluble packaging bag$10.00
- Water Soluble Bag$10.00
This makes it an ideal choice for e-commerce and retail brands. These companies can make a mark in the world by treating the planet better.
Unique features of water-soluble material:
• Soluble in water: Water-soluble materials are just as their name implies. When placed in water, they dissolve completely with leaving no harmful residuals.
• Biodegradable: Water-soluble material react immediately in direct contact with water, so the environment can make their job and take care our material, that means that the rain can destroy, the morning dew also help to destroy the material.
This idea was made to get a simple solution to solve a big problem. In the natural environment, microorganisms will finally convert it to carbon dioxide and water.
• Anti-static and excellent gas barrier properties: Water-soluble membranes and bags made of water-soluble materials have the advantage of good gas isolation.
So in COVID-19’s epidemic, water-soluble laundry bags play a good protective role for doctors, nurses, or people engaged in the laundry industry.
Its antistatic advantage can be applied to the packaging of electronic equipment.
• Generate no microplastic: Traditional polyethylene and polypropylene bags generate microplastics. These are known as plastic bags that are harmful to the environment.
However, water-soluble materials do not generate this when they dissolve in water. They contain absolutely no polypropylene or polyethylene.

The idea behind water-soluble materials
It is no news that plastic disposal is one of the leading causes of pollution in the oceans and our planet in general.
We use millions of plastic bags daily from supermarkets to clothing stores.
This is convenient as they are handy and strong enough to transport various products.
However, this excessive use of plastic films and bags poses a threat to the quality of life.
Today is not possible to use plastic bags in countries of banned plastics. So retailers and wholesalers are looking for products to replace plastic bags.
In 2016 POLYEMAT® and SOLUBAG™ were introduced to the market as environmentally friendly water-soluble pellets, films, and bags.
This small material solves a big problem. Because these materials are soluble in water and have no pollution to the environment.
Some tests and certifications that guarantee the material not have any material that can damage the environment.
Uses of water-soluble materials
According to the different forming process:
Water-soluble materials can undergo two different forming processes to create various eco-friendly products. These include:
1.Injection molding grade:
These materials can be made into toys, boxes, gifts, and sports equipment.
Aquabeads:
Aquabeads is now loved by children in over 45 countries and regions.
Aquabeads is a stick-with-water bead toy that does not require ironing.
All Aquabeads products are made of non-toxic material and pass the test for safety toy standards around the world. This toy uses the characteristic of water-soluble material that melts in water.
Use these beads to make the pattern you want, and then spray a small amount of water on it. Wait a moment, and you can get the pattern toy you want.

Golf:
Golf is already a very popular sport to be played on land. However, playing golf on the water is also becoming a trend.
If you’re on a cruise ship and want to indulge in some golf without harming the environment, water-soluble golf balls are for you!
In case your golf ball lands in the water, you won’t have to worry because it’ll dissolve in the water!
These golf balls are eco-friendly and 100% non-toxic for the environment so they won’t harm any plants or animals.
Moreover, their usage extends far beyond just cruise ships. You can use them on beach hotels or resorts too!

2.Blown film grade:
They are popularly used to produce pesticide packaging bags, chemical packaging bags, water-soluble garbage bags, water-soluble packaging bags, water-soluble shopping bags, and water-soluble laundry bag.
Water-soluble laundry bag:
Serving the purpose of minimizing infections and cross-contaminations, water-soluble laundry bags can be used to wash infected clothes or items while avoiding any form of physical contact.
The lesser physical contact there is, the lesser the chances of contracting infections through surface contact.
Once the contents have been closed inside, the bags can be tossed into a washer.
At first, the bag will dissolve and then the contents will be washed.
Highly applicable in a hospital, it reduces plastic waste to almost zero as well and infected contents can be disinfected instead of being burned.

Water-soluble shopping bag:
Shoppers often use plastic bags as a means to carry groceries or other items they’ve shopped for.
However, once they reach home, they serve mostly no other purpose than landing in the garbage.
From there, they’ll either be burned, repurposed, or disposed of in a natural habitat.
We all know how badly plastic damages the environment. A water-soluble shopping bag helps by being disposed of easily by just dissolving in water.
Polyemat produces two kinds of water-soluble bags, one can dissolve in cold water(above 25 degrees Celsius), another can dissolve in hot water(above 55 degrees Celsius), which means these bags can be used on a rainy day too!

Chemical packing bag:
Chemical packaging has always been a challenging task.
When packaging a certain chemical compound, the number of options that one has is often quite a few.
Plastics have been the primary packaging material. But plastics have a negative impact on the environment, and with the ban on plastic in many countries.
So it’s important to find a new solution. As a new type of packaging film, water-soluble packaging has been widely used in the packaging of cleaning products (laundry beads).
Polyemat is committed to R & D and production of water-soluble film packaging, and in experiments and combined with the actual situation to find more chemical packaging applications.

According to different dissolution temperature:
As the name suggests, water-soluble materials have diverse applications.
These are based on different dissolution temperatures. This includes hot water-soluble material and cold water-soluble material.
1.Hot water-soluble material:
As the name suggests, hot water soluble materials depend on high temperatures, which could be 55 degrees Celsius or higher.
They dissolve in hot water without leaving any marks on linen or in washing machines.
These leave no discoloration or stains on the materials while it’s being used or when it dissolves in water.
With its gas barrier properties, they can block viruses and bacteria, and keep food fresh.
Hot water-soluble materials can be used widely in garment bags and linen bags applications.
It is mostly used to produce water-soluble laundry bags that can be used to store contaminated or soiled linen, especially in hospitals.
In such an environment, it reduces the risks associated with handling clothing materials contaminated with toxic chemicals.
It also reduces the rate of virus transmission from one person to the other.
With hot water-soluble materials used to create sustainable bags, they can be useful in retail packaging for clothing, chemical, and other industry.
2.Cold water-soluble material:
This is the direct opposite of hot water-soluble materials as these dissolve in water at a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius.
Available in various styles and thicknesses.
Cold water-soluble materials are made from water-soluble polymers, which look like standard plastic film. However, this film dissolves completely in cold water just as sugar would in coffee.
One fact that makes these cold water-soluble materials environmentally friendly is that they also dissolve in actual seawater.
It is strongly recommended for packing pesticides and agricultural chemicals. This is because it is completely safe for the environment and biodegradable.
What is the difference between plastic bags, compostable bags, and water-soluble bags?
Plastic bags are incredibly convenient bags made from crude oil.
However, they take very long to decompose, and in seawater, they never fully breakdown.
In other words, plastic bags in oceans pose a serious threat to life in the water ecosystem.
These polyethylene plastic bags could take as long as a thousand years to decompose.
However, if the conditions are not favorable enough, they could never breakdown.
During the decomposition process, plastic bags emit toxic compounds that are deadly to animals, birds, and fishes.
They also go on to cause environmental disasters like clogged drains that result in terrible floods.

On the other hand, compostable products take less than 180 days to disappear.
All or part of these products is derived from natural resources, while many have a percentage of plastic too.
For example, if a compostable product is said to come from potato, you need to consider that you can only get 6kg of starch from 1000kg of potato.
This product will then be used to produce a compostable bag.
However, this is not sustainable. We need to analyze if it is more important to make a bag than feed the potato to people who need food.
Now, here is the issue. If you have a bag made using potato products, you have two options for the disposal of this compostable bag.
One is the compostable stage in the home or the industrial stage, while the other is a landfill disposal stage.
For home or industrial disposal, if you don’t separate the products from the common plastics, it will be impossible to recycle them.
Putting them together in a common landfill means that they will spend between 150 and 400 years just like a common plastic product before decomposition.
Why don’t they get destroyed? For these materials to decompose in the environment, they need four conditions: light, moisture, temperature, and stress.
If one of these conditions is not available during the composting process, the material won’t be destroyed.
This is evident in a test carried out on compostable bags where one of them spent three years and counting in the ocean.
There was no difference in its composition, as it was exactly the same as the first day.

However, water-soluble material reacts immediately when it comes in direct contact with water.
The environment takes care of it as rain and morning dew can destroy them.
From children to adults, everyone can dispose of water-soluble material without using high-end technology or investing in any expensive machinery.
All you need is water and the will to not make more pollution.
Can I use the same machinery of the plastic bags or plastic molds to blow film or inject mold?
Yes, the same machinery of the plastic bags and molds can be used to blow water-soluble films and molds.
What we do just clean the machine and die head well, and then adjust a few things, basically the temperature of the process.
Water-soluble materials have evolved over the years.
Now, people see them as a great alternative to plastic that pollutes the environment.
As we carry out more research, it is believed that its use will become widespread.
